| Our food is a tribute to the Mayan people of southern Mexico. The Maya are the native people of southern Mexico. They inhabited the Yucatan peninsula in what is present day Mexico, Guatemala, Honduras, and El Salvador. The ancient Maya were farmers. They grew corn, beans, squash, avocados, chili peppers, pineapples, papaya, and cacao. The Maya were also the people who built the pyramids in Chichén Itza, Mexico. They created relief sculptures and other art forms to record events and portray their gods. Maya civilization in the lowlands mysteriously collapsed between 790 - 889 A.D.; however, Mayas continued to thrive in the northern Yucatan peninsula and southern highlands of Guatemala. Maya descendents still live and farm throughout the Maya region.

All are healthful and delectable, made with the freshest hand picked ingredients and adhering to the highest standards.
In our downstairs dining area, the beautiful green Lucite bar offers 40+ wines by the glass in a pressurized system to keep the quality of wine up to expectations. You can order 3oz or 6oz servings so you can experiment or indulge, as you please. The bartending mixologists will cater to your every whim for martinis and mixed drinks, and offer suggestions if you need inspiration.
The wine list compliments the cuisine with an extensive selection offered by both the bottle and the glass.
The upstairs dining room is somewhat more formal, as expressed by the 28' high curved ceiling and tall windows reflecting the chandeliers and white beams. A combination of booths and flexible table seating accommodates your needs, and the proximity to the kitchen with its enticing smells and activity will whet your appetite.
The restaurant is in the completely renovated historic Corn Exchange building at the bottom of King St, on the corner with Union St. The famous Torpedo Factory is kitty-corner. Visitors have described it as "tony" and "posh," while we think of it as fresh and inspired by the Mediterranean and the wonderful dining experiences found there. We look forward to welcoming you to our home, as is the tradition in all of the restaurants managed by the Lebanese Taverna.
100 King is one of the first restaurants in Old Town to offer Valet Parking. There is also convenient public and street parking in the area.

Her splendid achievements pays homage to the spirit of great Parisian bistros while designed to appeal to new and lifelong patrons. "Bookbinder’s is to Philadelphia what La Cupole is to Paris," said Barber, principal of Floss Barber, Inc., comparing Bookie's, as it is affectionately nicknamed, to the celebrated Montparnasse bistro where Hemingway frequented, observing people from all walks of life celebrating the dining experience. Like its Parisian counterpart, during its 140 years Old Original Bookbinder's has served as a gathering place, for celebrities, political leaders, local residents and tourists. John E.
